A chromatic tuner and a metronome for people who need both to be right. THE TUNER Every note from A0 to C8, read to within two hundredths of a cent. The note name is shown large, beside the deviation, so you can see what you played as well as how far off it is. When a reading has held still long enough to trust, the app says so. It refuses to guess. Silence, noise and too-quiet report no reading rather than a number — and if what you played is more than a semitone from any string in your tuning, it tells you that instead of pointing an arrow at the wrong string. 16 tunings across 9 instruments: guitar, bass, double bass, ukulele, violin, viola, cello, banjo and mandolin. All of them are free. The nearest string is inferred by cents, and you can override it. THE METRONOME 20 to 400 BPM, tap tempo, any time signature, and subdivisions of two, three or four. The downbeat, the beat and the subdivision are different pitches, not the same click at different volumes — at speed, a louder click of the same pitch is indistinguishable. The schedule is sample-accurate: under half a sample of deviation across a hundred thousand beats. It keeps sounding when the screen locks, and it follows the audio to your headphones when you plug them in. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO There is no network code in this app. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no consent dialog, and nothing to switch off — because there is nothing collecting anything to switch off.
