About
Sawhorse is a construction calculator that works the way you measure: feet, inches and fractions, straight off the tape. Type 12 ft 6 in 3/8, add 2 ft 4, multiply by 3, and read the answer as feet-inches, inches, decimal feet, yards or metric. Feet times feet gives square feet. Three lengths give cubic yards. A running tape keeps every line so you can check your work or reuse an answer. Big keys, a backspace key, and no clutter, built for gloves and sun glare. Seven trade tools use the same keypad: Stairs: risers, riser height, treads, total run, stringer length and angle from the floor-to-floor rise, with code defaults you can change. Rafters: common, hip and valley line lengths with the ridge deducted, overhang added, jack rafter difference, plumb and seat cut angles. Roof pitch: convert between rise per 12, degrees and rise over run, with pitch and hip factors. Concrete: cubic yards and 40, 60 or 80 lb bag counts for slabs, footings and round columns, with waste. Board feet: lumber volume and cost by the piece. Studs: count at 12, 16 or 24 inches on center, plus plates. Area and volume: rooms, slabs and fill, with perimeter for trim. Answers round to the fraction you choose, 1/8 through 1/64, while the math underneath stays exact. Sawhorse works offline, has no account and no sign-in, and collects nothing. The calculator and all seven tools are free. Sawhorse Pro is a single purchase, not a subscription, that unlocks sharing any tape or tool sheet as text or a PDF. Buy it once and it is yours on every iPhone and iPad signed into your Apple account.Read more

Small improvements. Sawhorse may now ask, once in a while after a finished calculation, whether you would rate it. It also sends anonymous counts of a few moments in the app (no personal data, nothing you type) so we can see what to improve. Details are in the privacy policy.
