A lesson is one idea, not a chapter. Six or seven minutes of reading in plain words, then ten questions drawn only from what you have just read. Every answer comes back with the reason it is the answer, and the ones you get wrong come round again before the lesson ends. Camito teaches road law in California, Texas, Florida, New York, Ohio, North Carolina and Michigan, one short lesson at a time, then finds out whether you learned it. HOW A LESSON GOES Read it. One rule, in plain words, and only that rule. Answer ten questions on it. Only on what that lesson taught you. Nothing you have not been shown yet turns up in the test. Read why, every time. Right or wrong, the answer arrives with the reason, and with the section of the vehicle code it was written from. Getting a question right by luck and getting it right by knowing look identical on a score, and they are not the same thing. See it again. A question you miss comes back later in the same test with the options shuffled, so you cannot get through by remembering where the right answer was sitting. The test ends once you have answered every question in it correctly at least once. A SCORE THAT IS ALLOWED TO SAY NO Your score counts the first try only. Get eight of ten right and the lesson is yours. Miss three and Camito records it as needs review rather than complete, and those questions come back. Nothing you have already earned is taken away, and the unit test at the end of a unit is held to the same standard, so there is one bar to clear and not two. WHERE THE QUESTIONS COME FROM Every question and every explanation is written from the traffic law itself, which in California is the Vehicle Code. Not from a summary of it, not from another study app, and never from another state's rules with the names changed. For each item we record the instrument, the section, the edition, the date we read it and who checked it. If we have not written a course for a place, Camito does not offer that place a course. A confident answer that is another state's law is worse than no answer at all. WHAT IS IN IT TODAY Seven state courses for car learners. There is a course map showing what is where, a progress record built from first try answers, and Practice, which draws a mixed set from across the course and leaves your statistics alone.
