You print the completed form and submit it yourself through the official channels listed below. OFFICIAL SOURCES All passport information in this app comes from the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs: - Form DS-11 (apply in person): https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply.html - Form DS-82 (renew by mail): https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport/renew.html - Official forms and the form filler: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/forms.html - Passport fees: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/fees.html - Photo requirements: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/photos.html - Passports for children under 16: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/need-passport/under-16.html - Where to apply in person (acceptance facilities): https://iafdb.travel.state.gov/ Always confirm current requirements and fees on travel.state.gov before you submit. WHAT THE APP DOES Passport Helper fills out the official U.S. passport application PDF for you, on your phone, and gives you a print-ready file. 1. Point the camera at your current passport. The app reads the machine-readable zone on your device and checks it against the built-in check digits. 2. Confirm what it read, then answer only the questions the passport does not cover (city of birth, address, physical description, emergency contact, travel plans). 3. Get a completed DS-11 (new or first-time applicants and minors) or DS-82 (renewal by mail), plus a checklist of what to bring or mail, with links to the official sources above. 4. Print it, sign it where the official instructions tell you to, and submit it yourself. PRIVACY FIRST - Your passport photo, the details read from it, and everything you type stay on your phone. - No account, no analytics, no ads, no server. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. - Your Social Security Number and passport number are never written to storage. They live in memory only and are cleared when you leave the app. - You can skip the Social Security Number entirely and write it by hand on the printed form. The app reminds you at print time. - Prefer to type? You can skip the camera and enter everything manually. WHAT YOU GET - The official fillable DS-11 or DS-82 PDF, filled in and flattened so it prints correctly from any viewer. - A checklist of documents, photo requirements and fees for your situation, each with its official source link. - Clear validation so you never print a form with a required field missing. You are responsible for reviewing the form before you sign and submit it. Passport Helper is a convenience tool only; the U.S. Department of State is the sole authority on passport applications.Read more
