About
Arendal Singletrack – Our Trails in Your Pocket Arendal Singletrack is the app for the cycling club of the same name. It helps you find and follow great mountain bike routes in Arendal, while also making it easy to contribute to maintaining the trail network. Ride Explore the club’s recommended mountain bike routes on detailed maps from the Norwegian Mapping Authority (Kartverket). Routes include information such as distance, elevation gain and difficulty. Start a ride and leave your phone in your pocket. GPS tracking and haptic alerts let you know if you go off route, get back on track or approach your destination. If you have an Apple Watch, you can follow your ride from your wrist. Maps can be downloaded in advance, so the app continues to work in areas with poor or no mobile coverage. Trail Maintenance Good trails need maintenance. Members can report work that needs to be done on the trail network, such as fallen trees, erosion, overgrown sections or other damage. See what needs to be done, take responsibility for a task, document the work and mark it as completed. Issues can be registered with a location, category, severity and photo. The app is designed to work out in the woods. Changes are saved to your phone first and automatically synchronized when a network connection becomes available again. For Members and Visitors You can use the maps and recommended routes without being a member. Arendal Singletrack members also get access to features for trail maintenance and volunteer work. The app follows your phone’s language and is available in Norwegian and English. Map data: © Kartverket Trail data: © OpenStreetMap contributorsRead more
