About

Prismoid is a brick breaker rebuilt in real perspective depth. You hold the phone sideways and look out across a dark vitrine. The paddle sits close, at your edge of the glass. The formation stands far up-field. And the ball flies between them through actual depth - it gets smaller as it goes, and larger as it comes back at you. Everything on the field is cast glass. The panes are transparent, they refract the starfield behind them, they split light into colour at their edges, and they shatter into slivers that catch the light on the way down. Nothing is a sprite. Nothing is a flat coloured rectangle with a number on it. TWENTY-FOUR HAND-BUILT STAGES Every stage was laid out by hand and each one does something the last one did not: a sea that swells under the field, a floor that freezes over in a blizzard, a black hole that swallows the ball and spits it out somewhere else, a prism that throws a spectrum across the arena. FIVE BOSSES A glass dragon that beats its wings and breathes cubes of fire. A kraken that throws an arm the length of the field. A crystal spider that lays eggs, and hatchlings that come down a thread. An AI core. A coral serpent. Each is built out of the same glass blocks the field is, and each comes apart the way glass comes apart. CONTROL THAT IS ACTUALLY ONE TO ONE Your thumb is the paddle. No stick, no acceleration curve, no smoothing, no maximum speed. Where the ball strikes the paddle decides where it goes, so aiming is a skill and not a dice roll - and the collision is solved analytically at 240 steps a second, which means the ball cannot pass through a pane at any speed, ever. THINGS THAT FALL Extra balls, extra lives, slow motion, and a mirror ball that lights the whole arena and makes the paddle untouchable for five seconds. Some things that fall are not gifts. You will learn which. MUSIC Original soundtrack and also classic C64 SID-tracks by Tomas Danko and Hasse Svala, two legendary SID-musicians, used with their written permission. FREE All twenty-four stages, all five bosses, the whole thing. No payment, no subscription, no currency, nothing to unlock. It is finished and it is yours. NO NONSENSE No advertisements. No tracking, no accounts, no sign-up, no energy timers, no loot boxes, nothing to grind. There is no analytics, no advertising identifier, and nothing that reports what you play. The game works with the phone in flight mode, on a train, for ever, and the whole of it is in the download. HOW TO PLAY A page on the title screen draws every object that falls and says in one line what it does - the three that hurt you in orange. Read it once and you will never have to guess what you just caught. Landscape. iPhone. Headphones recommended.Read more

Every control now sits whole on every iPhone. On the iPhone SE the pause and level buttons and the coin ran partly off the screen; they are back where they belong. The steering ring now appears exactly under your thumb. On FAIRLIGHT the scrolltext spans the whole glass, as it was always meant to.
