Velvet Wick

Velvet Wick is a workshop companion for people who make candles. It works out how much wax and fragrance oil a vessel needs, whether you are pouring a straight tumbler, a tapered apothecary jar, a tin, a pillar mould, a votive or a teacup, and it suggests a wick size to start testing from. The costing tool turns those weights into a cost per candle and shows what the candle has to sell for to leave a sensible margin. The blend lab lets you build a fragrance from parts and reads back the balance of top, heart and base notes. Every pour can be logged as a batch with photographs and a cure clock sized to the wax you used, so you always know what is ready and what still needs time. Burn tests are recorded against the batch, and the melt pool measurements are read back as under-wicked, balanced or over-wicked. Formulas worth repeating are saved as recipes, and the supply cabinet tracks what is on the shelf and flags anything running low. Every figure in the app is a published starting point rather than a promise, and the app says so wherever it shows one. Everything is stored on your own device in plain files, with no account, no subscription and no network connection of any kind.
