Description
Google can tell you what water means. It can never tell you that water came seven times this month — five of them on a Monday.
Most dream apps read one dream. Somva reads the series.
After thirty nights it can say things nobody else can — not because the analysis is cleverer, but because nobody else has your archive.
WHAT IT DOES
• Speak a dream in twenty seconds, or type it. A dream fades in about ten minutes, and everything here is built around that window.
• Every entry gets two readings side by side: what is actually in the dream, counted by the Hall/Van de Castle categories used in dream research, and what the dream books traditionally say about the images. Neither is passed off as the other.
• Nothing last night? Log the night anyway, in one tap. Blank nights are counted too — that is how Somva can tell you how often anything stays at all, and whether the nights you remember are the ones you went to bed earlier.
• Across the archive: what repeats, which mornings it comes back on, what is shifting, and how your numbers compare with the published Hall/Van de Castle norms.
• A hundred symbols in your language. Where Miller's 1901 dream book has an entry, his reading is quoted under his own name — that book is where most of what people call a sennik comes from.
• Lucid dreams: the images that come back most often in your own archive are your dream signs, listed beside the practices people actually use — reality checks, the intention before sleep, wake-back-to-bed.
• Two more traditions beside Miller, with their sources named: Artemidorus (2nd century) and Freud (1900). Artemidorus reads by system — the mouth is the house, the teeth are the people in it — and the same dream means different things depending on who is dreaming it.
• Before sleep: a breathing practice that guides you by a circle rather than a count, and one line about what you would like to dream of. In the morning Somva shows what came back from it, word for word.
• Through the day the phone can ask whether you are dreaming — the standard way lucid dreaming is trained.
• A verdict for the night: what the dream is read as, what happened in it to you specifically, and one thing to notice today. Plus how many nights in your archive already had this image.
• A dream sigil — a mark that shows the shape of the night: who was there, what passed between you, indoors or out. In the list, a night with a quarrel is visible without reading a word.
• Your sky: every night is a star, and the constellations are the images that keep coming back. You can share it as a picture, without a line of the dream itself.
WHY IT IS HONEST
The category counting is the standard method used in research. The readings are tradition, and every one of them is signed with its source and year: Miller 1901, Artemidorus 2nd century, Freud 1900. No medical or psychiatric conclusions, and no dates: a dream book says what an image is read as, not when something will happen to you.
Patterns are only shown when they survive a correction for multiple comparisons — which means the app often shows nothing. That is the point: an invented pattern is worse than an empty screen.
PRIVACY
Everything is computed on this phone. There is no account, no server, no upload. Speech recognition runs offline; if your phone cannot do that, Somva says so and asks you to type instead of sending your dream anywhere. The whole archive exports to a plain readable file whenever you want it, free — nothing here is locked away from you.
FREE AND PAID
Logging is free forever and without limit — blank nights included — and so are the counts, Miller's readings, the whole dream book, the evening intention and both reminders. What is paid is the reading of the archive: every pattern, the norms and the indices, what your recall depends on, how often your intention came back, search across all of it, the nights behind each symbol, the two further traditions.
