readMeNow turns PDFs and EPUBs you have the right to use into a personal reading and listening experience across Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Read or listen chapter by chapter while keeping your reading data on your device. PDF books also support highlights and page-connected voice notes. Rename, merge, split, reorder, add, or remove chapters before listening. A READER FOR PDF AND EPUB BOOKS • Import through the system document picker • Drag and drop one or multiple PDF or EPUB books on Mac • Navigate pages, search text, and select passages with PDFKit • Read sanitized, reflowable EPUB chapter text and resume by chapter position • Use light, dark, or time-based appearance • See marked pages and return directly to important passages HIGHLIGHT WHAT MATTERS Select text and highlight it with a compact color palette. Remove only the part you no longer need without erasing the rest. Marked-page indicators make passages easy to find. VOICE NOTES CONNECTED TO THE PAGE Record thoughts as local voice notes anchored to selected text—or the nearest passage—with the page and reading position. When on-device speech recognition is available, readMeNow can transcribe a note while preserving its recording. Search notes and return to their source passages. SUPPORT FOR SCANNED DOCUMENTS When a PDF has no selectable text, readMeNow identifies that OCR is needed. At your request, on-device Vision can recognize scanned pages for chapter analysis, reading, highlighting, and narration without uploading the document. CURATED ENGLISH AND SPANISH NARRATION readMeNow supports PDF and EPUB narration in English and Spanish. It detects the dominant supported language and lets you confirm it before playback. • English uses optional Kokoro narration with curated voices on compatible Apple-silicon devices after a one-time model download • Spanish uses the curated Apple system voice Mónica • Voice selection, rate, and pitch remain under your control • The interface language can be set separately from the narration language BUILT TO HELP YOU CONTINUE The dashboard shows the current chapter, book progress, marked pages, listening time, estimated total time, and file details. Reading and playback progress are preserved for your return. PRIVATE BY DESIGN readMeNow has no accounts, advertisements, third-party analytics, or tracking. Imported books, extracted text, progress, highlights, recordings, and transcripts remain on your device. iCloud synchronization is not enabled. The optional Kokoro narrator downloads only its public model and selected voice. Your content and reading history are never uploaded with that download. Microphone and speech-recognition permissions are requested only when you choose the related voice-note actions. Text extraction, chapter detection, highlighting, OCR, and narration quality depend on each document's structure and text layer. Scanned documents may require OCR. Use readMeNow only with documents you have the right to access.
