NovaStat

NovaStat teaches statistics and data mining the way it is actually done: you open a table, you write the formula, you read the number, and you learn what it does and does not allow you to say. Every lesson comes with a lab — a real spreadsheet inside the app, with real data. You type an Excel formula, the result appears immediately, and the server tells you whether it is right. You do not need Excel installed to practise, and everything you learn transfers to Excel unchanged. THE FIRST COURSE IS FREE Not a sample lesson: the whole first course, including its labs, the final exam and the certificate. If it does not teach you something you can use, you have lost nothing. WHAT THE COURSES COVER Foundations — tidy data, descriptive statistics, probability distributions, sampling and the central limit theorem, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing. Classical inference — t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square, nonparametric tests, correlation, simple regression. Regression and modelling — multiple regression, diagnostics, model selection, logistic regression, time series, forecasting. Data mining — data preparation, PCA, k-means, hierarchical clustering, k-NN and Naive Bayes, decision trees, association rules, model evaluation. Advanced practice — simulation and bootstrapping, experimental design, survival analysis, and a capstone project that runs a full analysis end to end. HOW IT WORKS Each lesson explains the method, states its assumptions, and says what happens when those assumptions are broken. Then the lab makes you do it. Each course ends with an exam graded on our server, and passing it issues a certificate with a public verification link and a PDF. HONEST ABOUT THE LIMITS Excel is not R. Most of what a working analyst does, Excel does well, and these courses show exactly how — including where you need the Analysis ToolPak, Power Query or Solver, named explicitly. Where Excel genuinely runs out — random forests, mixed models, robust standard errors, millions of rows — the lesson says so and tells you which tool takes over. No lesson pretends Excel can do something it cannot. The in-app lab reproduces the Excel functions it teaches, but it is a teaching tool, not Excel, and not certified for regulated or safety-critical work. NovaStat is an independent training product.
