About

Design a matching network by moving points on a Smith chart. Add a component and a handle appears on the chart. Drag it and the point travels only along the locus that component can physically produce, solving for its value as you go. Instead of entering a value and checking the result, you take the point where you want it. ■ Features ・Component values solved by dragging Series and shunt L, C and R, ideal transmission lines, open and shorted stubs, and LC resonators (series tank / shunt trap). The load point can be dragged too. ・Pinch to zoom up to 5x Points crowd together near a good match. Zooming lets you resolve what you cannot reach at 1x. ・Chart reference Z0 and target impedance Zt are independent Keep the familiar 50-ohm chart while designing a conjugate match to 75 ohms or to a complex impedance. ・Frequency response |S11| dB and |S21| dB side by side. The sweep can start at DC, and resonator frequencies are drawn as dashed lines so notches line up with their cause. ・Spec masks Add as many reflection, loss and attenuation limits as you need; pass and fail are shown by the colour of the trace. Enabling one fills its band in from the design frequency f0, so there are no numbers to look up first. ・The schematic is the editor Enter values, delete and reorder components directly on the ladder diagram. Values take engineering units: 1.4p, 13.8 nH, 0.125 λ. ・Save and load A whole design exports to and imports from JSON. ■ Who it is for ・RF engineers matching antennas and terminations ・Power amplifier designers working on input and output networks ・Students learning to read a Smith chart by hand ・Radio amateurs designing their own antenna matching ■ Privacy Everything is computed on the device. The app works offline, no design data is ever uploaded, and no account is required.Read more
