Island Survival: Ink Castaway

Washed ashore on an island drawn only in ink and indigo. Forage, invent, and read the sky. Survive until the rescue signal is answered. [One goal: be rescued] Two roads lead there. - Build an SOS of stones on the beach and light a smoke signal. It starts early, but rain and wind put the fire out, and a typhoon storm surge washes the stones away. - Climb to the summit at the center of the island and raise a beacon fire. The round trip is long, but the surge cannot reach it and rain rarely kills it. The signal is not the end. Live through a heavy gale and a great tsunami until the morning the boat arrives. [Forage, invent, craft] Stone, thick branch, palm leaf. Recipes come to you from what you are already carrying. 27 things to make: campfire, bed, thatched roof, bamboo chest, rain collector, bamboo canteen, fur coat, straw sandals, lightning rod. A stone axe cuts through the thicket, a machete clears the vine wall, a pickaxe breaks the crag. The path you cut stays cut. [The island, outward to center] Beach, grassland and bamboo, forest, summit. Each layer gives different materials and is painted differently. A cave carved into the forest, permanent snow at the summit, a wreck on the shore. Every island is generated anew. [Disasters are drawn day by day] Typhoon, tsunami, earthquake, heavy rain, gust, lightning, heat wave, sea fog, red tide, snowmelt flood, gale, wildfire. Storm surge, landslide, snow on the roof, a viper that comes indoors on rainy days. Every one of them has an omen. Birds flying to the mountain all at once means tsunami. A bad wind and a sea roar means gale. The smell of burning means wildfire. Only those who read the omen get to light a fire again the next morning. [Four seasons, one year] Fourteen days each, fifty-six days a year. One day is twenty real minutes. Night is truly dark, and a winter night shortens how long you can stay away from the fire. The year turns, and the world does not stop. [Painted in ink] Every image is ink and light wash. Mincho type, a vertical title, a vermilion seal. Not one sound is recorded. Waves, wind and footsteps are all synthesized as you play. [Playable with one finger] Trace to walk. The circle at the lower right gathers. Hold "open" and craft, inventory, place, notes, pause and eat appear on an arc. [What this game does not draw] When an animal is taken, the moment of impact, the pain, the body and the blood are never drawn. There is no other person on this island. Instead, ten lines of real-world disaster guidance sit on the settings card, quoted only from public bodies such as the Japan Meteorological Agency and the Ministry of the Environment. [No network] No internet connection. No ads, no in-app purchases, no account, no sign-in. No data is collected. Two difficulties. You can stop and continue later.
