After a fire, a flood or a burglary the claim is settled item by item, and it is you who has to say what was there. Every insurer, and every adjuster who has ever handled a claim, says the same thing: walk round the house beforehand with your phone and record everything. Almost nobody does, because every app that offers to help turns into an afternoon of typing. This one does not. Photograph a thing.
