The permanent record of everything you have poured into your project car. Every part, every receipt, every hour, every photograph — kept on your phone, working with no signal. THE WORK LOG Record each job with what it cost, how long it took and what went into it: service, repair, parts fitted, milestone or note. Part numbers and suppliers are the fields that matter — they are what make the record useful two years later, and what a buyer looks for. Costs are recorded per currency and never silently converted. Sourcing a water pump from Germany and a carburettor from Italy inside one project is ordinary, and the totals say so. PHOTOGRAPHS AND RECEIPTS Attach photographs and receipts to the job they belong to. Thermal paper fades; a photograph of an invoice taken today does not. PDFs are kept as PDFs, so a three-page invoice keeps all three pages. REMINDERS By date or by odometer reading, both repeating. A car driven four times a year still needs servicing properly. THE PROVENANCE DOSSIER Export the whole history as a printed document: a cover page, the work history in order, a parts index, a photographic section with numbered plates, and a receipt index the work history cross-references by number. Selling? Leave the costs out with one switch. Every figure disappears — parts, receipts and totals — because there is no reading of that switch where the buyer still learns what you paid for a water pump.
