Map Star: States & Capitals

Map Star asks the question out loud — "What is the capital of Ohio?" — and your child just says the answer. No typing needed, and no multiple choice to guess from. Saying the answer is the point: it's how kids actually remember the 50 states and their capitals. SIX WAYS TO PLAY • Capital — name each state's capital • State — hear a capital, name its state • Letters — name the state from its two-letter abbreviation • Nickname — name the state from its nickname, like the Hoosier State • Map — find the state on the map and tap it • Mix it up — the spoken quizzes shuffled together, so no one settles into a pattern Play 10, 25, or all 50 states at a time, and answer out loud or by typing. A MAP MADE FOR SMALL FINGERS The map is color-coded by region — West, Midwest, South, and Northeast — with a button for each to zoom in. A "Small states" zoom makes tiny states like Rhode Island and Delaware big enough to tap. IT LISTENS CAREFULLY Map Star understands answers even when pronunciation isn't perfect, but it won't let "South Carolina" pass for North Carolina, or "West Virginia" for Virginia. When a question is missed, it shows the right answer and says it out loud, so the next try is a good one. Can't use the microphone right now? Tap "Type it" and answer with the keyboard. PROGRESS YOU CAN SEE Map Star remembers every state in every kind of quiz. Three right in a row and a state is mastered; one miss and it goes back on the list. The Progress screen shows what's mastered and what isn't, and one tap practices the weakest states. PRACTICE, THEN QUIZ Quizzes are random — a test you can steer isn't a test. Practice is the predictable half: fixed sets of ten in alphabetical order, or by region on the map, with a study list that reads any state aloud at a tap before you drill it. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your child's voice never leaves the device. Speech is recognized on the iPhone or iPad itself, with no online fallback, and no recording is ever kept. No account. No ads.
