Reveal: Remove Captions

Reveal helps repair white captions on wide, translucent black bars in photos and videos. Work on your iPhone, compare the result, and keep the original untouched. CHOOSE ONE PHOTO OR VIDEO Import from Photos or Files. Reveal receives only the item you select and never asks to browse your entire photo library. REFINE THE RESULT Compare Original and Revealed views. Move the top and bottom caption guides independently, adjust them one source pixel at a time, and fine-tune bar opacity and text-mask expansion. Save a preferred opacity for future imports. HANDLE MOVING CAPTIONS Caption detection runs separately on each video frame. Add timed corrections for fixed or moving caption bars, or leave an interval unchanged. Applied manual corrections take priority over automatic detection. KEEP A NEW COPY Export a PNG photo or H.264 video, inspect it, then save to Photos or share to Files and other destinations. Reveal asks for add-only Photos permission only when you choose Save to Photos. Keep the app open while exporting. PRIVATE EDITING Media processing stays on your device. There is no AI, media upload, developer account, advertising, or analytics SDK. Apple handles purchases and may download cloud-backed selections through its system pickers. UNDERSTAND THE LIMITS Reveal estimates covered detail from nearby pixels; it cannot recover the exact image hidden behind text. Faces, textures, fast motion, and heavily compressed media may show artifacts. Inspect your result before saving. Exports are SDR and do not preserve HDR appearance or source metadata. Video is re-encoded with supported audio. Working edits are session-only, so save or share the finished copy before leaving the session. Requires iPhone with iOS 26 or later.
