There is more here than you think. Sidequest is a field guide to the everyday: guided observation expeditions that help you look closer at familiar places and keep what you discover. CHOOSE A SUBJECT Twelve authored expeditions explore light, sound, color, boundaries, objects, windows, lettering, ground surfaces, patterns, shelves, distance, and repair. Filter for indoors or outdoors, choose a comfortable place, and read your briefing. FOLLOW FOUR OBSERVATION STOPS Each expedition has four distinct tasks and questions. Describe a shadow. Count a repeating sound. Compare two materials. Separate what you observe from what you infer. Write your findings in the field notebook and record each stop when you are ready. PAUSE AND PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF Your unfinished observations save on your device. Close the app and resume later. Revisit earlier stops and refine your notes. There are no countdowns or GPS destinations; go at your own pace. BIND YOUR FIELD REPORT When all four observations are recorded, bind them into a dated report. Reopen your reports in Notebook, share them as text, or export a beautifully typeset, paginated PDF using the iPhone share sheet. RETURN TO A FAMILIAR PLACE Start a return visit from any completed report. Observe the same four stops with fresh notes, then open your earlier observations when you are ready. Complete the visit and compare THEN & NOW, with both dates and all four pairs of observations. Share your comparison as text or a printable PDF. BUILD YOUR OBSERVER'S PASSPORT Collect a stamp for each of the twelve subjects you explore. See your completed return visits and discover a subject you have not investigated yet.
