SmartLooper Studio is a looper for musicians, built to catch an idea fast and stack it up layer by layer — without putting the instrument down. TWO WAYS TO RECORD Freeform records with no fixed length. Play your riff, and the app finds the first hit, analyses the pulse and suggests a tempo from what you actually played. Quantize locks to a chosen tempo and bar count with a count-in, and can either stop itself after a fixed number of bars or work out the bar count from when you stop playing. OVERDUBS THAT LAND An overdub arms immediately and starts exactly at the next loop boundary — never in the middle of a phrase. With Multiply, an overdub can run across several rounds and grow the loop itself, so you can build a whole passage on top of a short riff. A/B SECTIONS Record a completely independent B section, with its own base layer, tempo and length, while A keeps playing. Switch between them exactly on the loop boundary — by hand, by pedal, after a chosen number of rounds, or let the app cycle back and forth on its own. THE LAYERS ARE YOURS Every layer can be set in volume, muted, reordered or deleted. Press and hold a layer for a quick level change. Export layers individually as CAF or WAV, or save the whole arrangement as a set to pick up again later. COLLABORATE ON A SET Share a saved set with another musician via iCloud and build on each other's layers. You each pull and push changes whenever you're ready — not live jamming over the internet, but asynchronous collaboration you can pick back up any time, from anywhere. EFFECTS ROUTE A full pedalboard built into the loop: Drive, Amp, Chorus, Delay and Reverb. The Amp stage lets you pick between three different amp models — O5amp, G4.6amp and A6amp — each with its own tonal character, so you can find the one that fits your riff. Toggle each stage independently, save up to 4 of your own setups as presets, and bypass the whole thing with one tap when you want to play dry. TOOLS INCLUDED A built-in tuner, a tempo listener that suggests a BPM from what you play, an input level meter, and a metronome locked to the loop's own grid. A seam editor lets you fine-tune the loop's start and end and listen to the join itself before committing to it. HANDS FREE Map Record/Play, Overdub, Stop, Delete Last Layer, Record Scene B and Switch Scene to a MIDI controller or a Bluetooth pedal. Apple Watch gives you the same remote on your wrist. AUDIO Supports background audio and Bluetooth routing through iOS's own audio system, and automatically prefers a connected USB audio interface over the built-in microphone. Use headphones or an interface so the speaker isn't recorded back into the next layer.
