wimzi: spontaneous plans

wimzi is for the plans that happen in the next two hours. You post a ping: an emoji, a few words, a place, and when. Bowling at eight. Coffee walk, now. Every friend sees it with a verdict worked out on their own phone from where they're standing: "18 min away, you'd get there 22 min early" or "you'd be about 10 min late". One tap to say I'm in. Under each ping: a map with your route, a chat with the people going, and the host's notes. If you want, turn on "on my way" and the people going see your pin and how far out you are, until you arrive. Hosts stay in charge. Move the time or place, close it when the table's full, call it off. At start time, send one "we're here" to everyone coming. Friends only. There's no discovery, no followers, no strangers. You add people with a link or a handle, and only they see your pings. Make groups for the people you always ping together. Your location stays on your phone. It's used there to work out whether you can make it, and it goes nowhere unless you turn on "on my way" for a ping, which shares it with that ping's people and then deletes it. No ads, no tracking, no selling anything. wimzi is the opposite of an event app. Pings expire two hours after they start. Yesterday is gone. The point is who's around right now, and whether you can be there in time.
