FerventWord: Bible Reading

Read today what God appointed for you today. Six plans come ready-made, from The Gospel Of John In 21 Days to Bible In 3 Years — or build your own from any set of books, over any number of days, reading one, two or three passages a day. It divides at paragraphs, poetry stanzas and section headings, so a day never starts or ends mid-thought. Follow more than one plan at once. Set a single passage to repeat daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Change a plan after you have started it: day 140 stays day 140, and what it holds changes. Give a plan a short code and a friend, a class or a whole congregation can follow it with you. Reminders name the day's passage and ask nothing of you. There is no box beside them. WHAT IT WILL NOT DO There are no streaks, no percentages, and no list of days you did not read. A day you miss leaves no trace, because there is nowhere in the app to record one. Today's reading is worked out from your plan and today's date, so there is never anything to make up. That is a deliberate design decision, not a missing feature. THE WHOLE BIBLE, ON YOUR DEVICE Four versions come in the download, all working with no connection: the English Standard Version, the Berean Standard Bible, the King James Version and the American Standard Version. None is fetched, and none can be removed. ESV + Audio is the same ESV text with a recording read by David Cochran Heath. The words are on your device like every other edition; only the recording is streamed. It keeps playing when you lock the screen, and pauses from the lock screen or your headphones. THE BIBLE GUIDE Every chapter carries an outline, a key verse, who wrote it and when, the events it covers, parallel passages, and where the New Testament quotes it. All 1,189 chapters come with the app and work offline. Study Tools hands the chapter to Logos, Blue Letter Bible, e-Sword, Olive Tree or ferventword.com. FINDING YOUR PLACE Search finds a verse by the words in it, across the versions you choose, with no connection. Every book is two taps away, in a grid of all sixty-six colored by genre. Hold three passages open at once, each in its own version. Recent lists where you have been reading — and if you were holding two or three together, one tap puts all of them back. HIGHLIGHTS AND NOTES Highlight in five colors, in whichever of three highlighter inks you prefer, and attach a note to any mark. Sort your marks into notebooks you name yourself, each with its own words for the colors. A highlight across several verses is one: tap any verse for the same note and actions. Anything you make in FerventWord, you can take out of it. Export & Import writes your plans and notebooks to files you can open in any text editor. No account, no service, and nothing that stops working if we do. WIDGETS, SIRI AND SPOTLIGHT Two widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen: today's reading, and the passage you last set aside to dwell on. Ask Siri what today's reading is, to open a chapter, or to pick up where you left off. iOS search finds any book, any chapter's guide, and these help pages. BUILT TO BE READ Passage text follows your system text size and can be adjusted further in the app. Every color is checked for contrast in both light and dark appearance. With Differentiate Without Color on, the words of Christ carry a line down the side, so the distinction does not depend on seeing red. YOUR DATA Your plans, highlights, notes and notebooks sync through your own private iCloud database — and on iOS 18 and later, recent passages and settings too. Each can be turned off separately. There is no analytics, no tracking and no usage reporting. Nothing leaves your device unless you ask for it. FerventWord Ministries is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
