About

Motionary turns your Home Screen into one moving picture. A design is a short clip, cut to fit a full-height widget, with app launchers placed on it. The wallpaper behind the widget carries the rest of the scene, so the two read as one continuous picture that fills the whole phone - and the part inside the widget moves. SET IT UP IN THREE STEPS - Save the wallpaper to Photos from inside the app. - Set it as your Home Screen wallpaper, with Perspective Zoom off. - Add the Motionary widget to the top of a page. MAKE IT YOURS - Every spot on a design opens an app, a link or a search - change any of them. - Swap the icon on a spot for one of hundreds of thousands of open-source icons, or leave a spot empty. - Switch between designs with a swipe; the widget follows the app. - Optionally let a tap on the empty space open your browser or a search page. HOW IT WORKS Motionary animates without any animation API: the frames are baked into the widget itself and the system's own clock steps through them. The animation keeps time with the wall clock, so the app and the widget always agree on what is showing. Nothing runs in the background and nothing polls. WHAT IT NEEDS - Photos, add-only, to save the wallpaper for you to set. - Local network, only if you use the optional companion Mac tool to send a design. The designs built into the app are ready to use as they are, and nothing about the app needs it. Motionary has no account, no analytics and no advertising. Nothing about you or your phone is collected or sent anywhere. Note: a widget cannot open another app directly, so tapping a spot opens Motionary for a moment before it opens the app. That is how every widget launcher on iOS works.Read more

Scenes can now be downloaded from inside the app. Open Design options, then More scenes, to see designs published since the version you installed. A design is data rather than code, so new ones arrive without an App Store update.
