Buzzbelt lets nearby phones chat over Bluetooth — no internet, no SIM, no signal needed. Open the app, pick a name, and you can message and buzz anyone else running Buzzbelt who's within Bluetooth range of you. No sign-up, no account, no phone number — just a name the people around you will recognise. WHAT IT DOES TODAY • Group chat and one-to-one messages with phones directly in Bluetooth range • See who's currently reachable, and how long it's been since you last heard from them • Buzz someone, or everyone, to get their attention • Nothing about you is collected, tracked, or sent to a server — there isn't one HONEST LIMITS • Range is short: tens of metres in the open, less through walls or a crowd • Messages reach phones directly nearby right now, not everyone further away down a trail or a bus • There's one shared chat for everyone running the app nearby today, not separate private groups • Keeping Bluetooth ready to send and receive uses more battery than usual Good for situations where a phone signal can't be relied on — hikes, festivals, campsites — when everyone already has the app open.
