Is My Food Recalled? helps you check packaged foods against nationwide U.S. recall information and keep watching the items you have at home. SCAN OR ENTER A BARCODE Use your iPhone camera to scan a UPC or EAN, or enter the barcode manually. The app can use community-maintained Open Food Facts data to fill in a product name, brand, and image. You can correct the label details and add a lot code or best-by date before checking. CHECK NATIONWIDE SOURCES The app searches FDA and USDA FSIS recall information without filtering by your current location. If one source cannot be reached, the app marks the result as partial instead of presenting an incomplete check as clear. WATCH ITEMS FOR CHANGES Save foods in My Foods and refresh them later. Optional remote monitoring periodically rechecks supported nationwide sources and can send a push notification when it detects a new or changed possible match. Remote monitoring is off until you enable it. A separate optional daily digest can send one notification a day when new FDA or USDA notices are published, whether or not you watch anything. VERIFY THE OFFICIAL NOTICE The app reports possible matches, not safety determinations. Government records may omit barcodes or appear after a delay. Always open the official notice and compare the package, size, lot or batch code, date, establishment number, and distribution details before deciding what to do. FREE, WITH ONE OPTIONAL SUBSCRIPTION Every recall check is free. The free version shows a small banner ad at the bottom of the My Foods and Recalls lists, never beside a scan result or a possible match, and every ad request is non-personalized. One subscription, monthly or yearly, removes the banners. Nothing else changes. PRIVACY BY DESIGN There is no account, analytics SDK, location collection, or cross-app tracking, and the app never shows the tracking prompt. Your watch list stays on your iPhone unless you explicitly enable remote monitoring.
