Twaddle has you putting new words into your own sentences from Day 1 to help commit them to memory. Every Twaddle lesson is built around a realistic conversation, with the context clearly marked as formal or informal. Twaddle breaks each conversation down piece by piece so you can learn the words, understand what you’re hearing, and practice saying it yourself. Because recognizing a word on a screen isn’t the same as recognizing it when someone actually says it. And knowing the answer isn’t much help if nobody can understand your pronunciation. Our units are also paired with an optional grammar lesson that is relevant to the content of the lesson, and tailored to the specific native+target language combination that you are using. This could help a native Chinese speaker avoid COMMON MISTAKES when speaking English, for example. Search for what you want. Our lessons are tagged - so, for example, if you just feel like learning the future tense today, just type it in and Twaddle pulls up the relevant lessons. AI powered pronunciation feedback (credits required) gives you feedback PER-WORD, and audio clips allow you to directly compare how you sounded verses the native voice. Tracks your mastery - Twaddle tracks how well you know each word, and uses SRS (Spaced Repetition System) to know when it’s time for you to study a flashcard again. - Twaddle Pro users get a progress view showing their projected mastery over time, and how much faster they could potentially gain mastery if they spent X more minutes studying per day. - Twaddle knows what you were last learning, so if you need to leave mid-lesson, you can pick back up right where you left off.
