Ballast: Cargo Flight

You don't steer. You weigh. Ballast is an airship game with one control: how heavy you are. The ship flies forward on its own. Everything else comes down to what you're carrying and what you're willing to let go of. Hold VENT AIR to vent gas and sink. Hold DUMP SAND to shed ballast and rise. Hold DROP CARGO for one second to release your heaviest crate. That's the whole game, and it's deeper than it sounds, because the cargo you're flying for is the same cargo dragging you toward the rocks. A gold bar is worth 150 and weighs 12. A mail sack is worth 5 and weighs 1. Sand runs out. Gas doesn't. Going down is free; going up costs you. Every crate you pick up is a decision you'll pay for three hundred meters later. FIFTEEN LEGS ACROSS FIVE REGIONS Fly the valley, the badlands, the coast, the capital, and the reach. Storm cells, power lines that puncture your envelope, and sky pirates who take your heaviest item if they catch you. You outrun them by being light.
