CrossingMT Personal Context

CrossingMT is an app for capturing information through handwriting, voice, camera, PDFs, and text from web pages, then reviewing, organizing, and grouping it in a way that is useful to you. The Home screen provides three main entry points: Handwriting Input, Voice Input, and Camera Input. You can capture new information on the spot and open it later from the Materials list. ■ Materials Materials are the original data created by capturing, recording, writing, or importing information. Photos, audio recordings, handwriting, PDFs, and text from web pages can be saved as materials. ■ Handwriting Input Save handwritten content as material. You can also check the recognized text on the spot. ■ Voice Input Save recorded audio as material and transcribe it on the device. The transcript is saved as a derived file belonging to that recording. Saved recordings can also be played back later. ■ Camera Input Save captured photos as materials. Text contained in a photo can be read on the device and checked on the spot. Reading it alone does not leave the text behind as a separate file. ■ Importing Files and Web Content PDFs, images, audio, and videos can be added as materials. Other files can be kept alongside them. From the share sheet, CrossingMT can receive URLs, images, videos, audio, PDFs, and text files. ■ Summary A Summary is a workspace where you place several materials side by side to compare, review, reorder, and organize them. It does not write a summary for you. Creating a Summary does not move or remove the original materials; they remain in the Materials list. ■ Library A Library is a place to group materials and summaries for later use. The same material can be added to more than one Library. Adding an item to a Library does not move the original material itself. ■ Derived Files Derived files such as OCR results, transcripts, translations, and pinyin may be created from original materials. Original data and derived files can be reviewed separately. ■ Data Storage Materials are stored on the device. From the CrossingMT folder under "On My iPhone" in the Files app, you can view, copy, or delete your own content directly. CrossingMT is not designed to automatically turn your information into a finished result. It is a tool for reviewing, checking, and organizing your own information so you can keep it in a form that is useful later.
