Latent is a workflow tool for film photographers — from metering light and logging shots to delivering scans with full metadata, all on iPhone. Light Meter Displays a live preview cropped to your exact film format — 35mm, 6×4.5, 6×6, 6×7, 6×9, or 4×5″ — with focal length recalculated for that format. You see the precise frame your camera will capture, not a generic view. Set aperture and shutter speed with sliders, EV compensation with arrows. Confirm, and the shot is logged. Equipment Manage cameras, lenses, and magazines in one place — including interchangeable film backs for medium format cameras (e.g. Hasselblad A12/A16), where each back can hold a different active film roll. The light meter adjusts automatically based on your setup. Films & Shots Each film roll has a code, frame count, and status — shooting, finished, or paired. Shots store aperture, shutter speed, EV compensation, lens, focal length, and GPS location. Scan Pairing After developing and scanning, place your TIFF or JPEG files in a folder. Latent pairs them with your logged shots and writes EXIF directly into the files — date, time, GPS, exposure values, camera body, and lens. No recompression, no computer, no companion app required. Action Button Assign Latent to the Action button or a Shortcut to log a shot without opening the app — the timestamp is captured at the moment you press, not when the app opens. Instant, with confirmation, or straight into the light meter. All records sync automatically via iCloud across your devices.
