US Civics Test Oral Practice

The civics part of the naturalization interview is spoken. An officer asks; you answer out loud; there is nothing in front of you to read from. Flashcards do not rehearse that, and knowing an answer in your head is not the same skill as saying it to someone who is waiting for it. Civics Oral Practice is that rehearsal. An interviewer starts asking — aloud, one question at a time, drawn from the 128-question USCIS civics bank. You answer aloud. It hears you, decides whether the answer counts, and moves on, the way the real interview does. A full run is 20 questions with 12 correct to pass: the shape of the test itself. WHAT IT DOES • Spoken from end to end. No typing, no multiple choice, no cards to tap through. • Graded as you go, each verdict marked with a tone, so you can keep your eyes off the screen and just talk. • Questions for your state — your senators, your representative, your governor — from the state you pick once and can change any time. • Scored at the end against the real passing mark, with every question you were asked, the answers that would have been accepted, and what you actually said. • The whole bank as a grid, showing which twenty of the 128 your interview drew and how each one went.
