PxlDay

PxlDay is a camera for a daily art practice. “Sometimes the biggest obstacle to making art is the expectation that it has to be successful.” PxlDay offers a simple structure for making photographs regularly. Working with a limited grid gives you a way to concentrate on color, light, and composition without expecting a finished work each day. The camera begins with a single pixel. Its resolution increases on each day you take and keep a photograph. Early photographs are simple blocks of color. As you continue, the camera can record more detail. Each saved photograph stays at the resolution it was taken. You can keep one photograph per day. If you miss a day, you continue from the same resolution when you return. Using the camera • Compose through the pixel grid you will save. • Choose which cells remain open, or use Randomize to arrange them. • Retake a photograph before deciding to keep it. • Set an optional daily reminder. Keeping a record • Browse your photographs in the order you took them. • Add private notes about what you noticed or were trying to make. • Replay your photographs at weekly and monthly milestones. • Sync your photographs and notes through your private iCloud account. Exporting your photographs Save individual photographs as PNG or JPEG to print, share, or keep outside the app. Grid-only PNG preserves transparent spaces; JPEG uses your chosen background. Choose Day + note for a cream print with your writing beneath the photograph. You can also export your complete journey as a ZIP of PNG images. Export milestone replays as silent videos. Notes are included only when you select Day + note; other exports leave them out. Privacy PxlDay saves the pixel grid and any note you add. The original camera image is never stored.
