About
A private journal for the wine you drink. Photograph the label. Decanted reads what it can - producer, name, vintage, region, grapes, alcohol - and fills the form in for you. Every field it suggests is marked, so you can see what came from the label and correct anything it got wrong before you save. Then add what only you know: a rating out of ten, where you were drinking it, what you paid, and a note you will be glad to have in two years. NO ACCOUNT, NO SERVER There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to. Your bottles, photographs, notes and ratings are stored on your device and nowhere else. Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere for it to go. You can give yourself a name and a photograph if you want them. The name travels only inside a file you choose to send. The photograph never leaves at all - it is not in a backup, not in anything you share, and not on a card you export. Reading a label happens on your device too. The text recognition is Apple's, running locally, so the photograph never leaves your phone to be read. If you allow location access, Decanted can fill in where you were drinking. The place name is looked up through Apple and only the name is saved - your coordinates are not stored, and you can leave location switched off entirely. BUILT FOR A COLLECTION THAT GROWS - Search by producer, name, region or grape - Filter by style, country, vintage, rating or favourite - Sort by what you tasted last, what you rated highest, or by vintage - Card grid or compact list, whichever you prefer - Similar bottles suggested from what you have already saved, so you can see what a new wine reminds you of WHAT IT ADDS UP TO Once there are enough bottles to say something, the journal starts answering questions you did not think to ask. Which countries and styles you actually drink, which grapes and vintages, where you were when you drank them, and how you tend to score. Alongside the charts, your top wines - overall, and within each style and country - ranked from the ratings you gave. There is nobody else's score involved and none is asked for: these are your opinions, counted. SEND A BOTTLE TO SOMEONE Share wines with another Decanted reader as a file. What arrives is kept aside until they choose to add it, and their journal remembers who it came from. Nothing goes anywhere until you send it, and you choose how. YOURS TO KEEP Export the whole journal - entries and photographs - as a single ordinary zip file. The wines are readable JSON and the photographs are ordinary images, so you can open it anywhere, not only here.

Airport is now one of the kinds of place you can record. A bottle opened in transit belongs to neither the shop it came from nor the restaurant it did not.
