PositionTracker helps you keep track of the money behind your IG spread bets and CFDs, so you can make better decisions about what to trade next. When you open a leveraged trade, IG only holds a deposit against it, usually a fraction of the trade's value. The rest of the money you planned to use for that trade still shows as available in your account, which makes it easy to spend it again on something else. PositionTracker lets you set that money aside. Once you have entered how much is behind each position, it keeps that amount separate and shows you what is actually free to trade. Money behind each position: Set how much of your own money is behind a trade, as an amount, as cover or as leverage. Changing one updates the others, so £750 behind a £1,500 position shows as 50% cover or 2x leverage. Your account at a glance: The home screen shows what is in your IG account, how much is behind your positions and what is free to trade. Your open positions are brought in from IG automatically. Orders waiting at IG: The home screen lists any orders waiting to open at IG, with the margin IG will hold for each one if it opens and, where IG's figures allow, how far the market is from it. Where that margin cannot be worked out, PositionTracker says why. When every order's margin is known, you can also see what will be free to trade once they open. If your orders would take more than you have free, this appears among the things checked against IG at the bottom of the home screen. Room before close-out: Each position shows how far the market would need to move before a margin call, and before IG would close the position. The stress test shows what a move in one market, or a ready-made scenario, would do to your whole account. Stops and take-profit levels: Where you have set a take-profit level at IG, the position's screen shows the level, how far the market still has to go to reach it and what the position would make or lose if it closed there. Where you have set a stop, it shows the level, how far it is from your opening price and what the position would make or lose if it filled there. Cost of holding positions: The Account screen turns the overnight charges IG has taken from your account into a cost per day. A position's own daily cost is worked out once a funding rate is entered for its market, and PositionTracker updates that rate from IG's charges where it can. Where a cost is not known, the app says so. Plan a trade: Enter the amount you want to put behind a new trade and PositionTracker works out the size to open with IG. It can remember the plan, so when the position appears in your account it is set up with the cover you chose. Widgets and alerts: Home Screen widgets show what is free to trade, how far the account is from a margin call and which position is closest to close-out. The Lock Screen widget shows how near the account is to a margin call and which position is closest to close-out, without any amounts. Once you turn them on, alerts can tell you when your account is on margin call, when a position is close to close-out or when IG changes the margin rate on a market you hold. Alerts are worked out while the app is open, so they cannot warn you while it is closed. Private and read-only: PositionTracker cannot open, change or close trades, and cannot place orders. Your IG login details are kept in the Keychain and protected by Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, and your positions are stored on your device.
