Raindex: Rain Totals & Gauge

How much rain actually fell on your ground? Raindex measures rainfall for the places you save: your yard, a field, a job site, and keeps a record. It is not a forecast app. It tells you what already fell. Rainfall comes from NOAA's MRMS network, which combines weather radar with the national rain-gauge network and estimates precipitation for every 1 mi cell across the lower 48, every hour. Raindex reads the cell your place sits in, so two fields a mile apart can, and often do, show different totals. A place outside that area is told so, rather than shown a number for somebody else's rain. Snowfall is reported as liquid equivalent, not snow depth, and labelled as such.
