Enter the Circle. Accept the Code. Bear the Mark. Markborne is a real-world social elimination game played with friends, campus groups, offices, weekend circles, and large events. One person opens a Circle and becomes its Arbiter. Everyone accepts the Code. When the Circle is sealed, each Markborne secretly receives one other player as their Mark. Find your Mark. Follow the Code. Submit your claim. When the Arbiter confirms it, the Mark passes and your next assignment is revealed. The game continues until only one Markborne remains. TWO WAYS TO PASS THE MARK CLASSIC MODE Play with the physical methods allowed by your Circle. Choose NERF, water guns, close-up photos, or other methods set by the Arbiter. The Code determines what counts and what evidence is required. PHONE GUN MODE Your iPhone becomes the method. Line up the in-app reticle and capture a single still. The reticle is burned into the image so the Arbiter can review the claim. Camera-roll images and Live Photos cannot be used. SOLO OR TEAM PLAY In Solo play, every Markborne receives one secret Mark while someone else receives them. When a claim is confirmed, the successful player inherits the next Mark in the chain. In Team play, teams pursue opposing teams. A team remains active until all of its members have been eliminated. The last remaining team wins. THE CODE Before sealing the Circle, the Arbiter establishes: - Allowed methods - Circle rules - Named Sanctuaries - Evidence requirements - Solo or team play - The Circle’s visual theme Paid Circles can also use custom methods, custom rules, Circle-hour windows, video evidence, and named-witness evidence. CLAIMS WITH A FAIR ARBITER Your Mark remains in play until the Arbiter confirms your claim. The Arbiter’s Desk keeps pending claims and reports in one place. The Arbiter can approve a claim or reject it with a reason. Players can review waiting, confirmed, and rejected submissions under Your evidence. Every decided claim becomes part of The Record, giving the Circle a shared timeline as the Mark passes.
