About

Feedrate gives you speeds and feeds you can actually run, for milling, drilling and turning across 18 material groups. REQUIRES A ONE-TIME PURCHASE Feedrate is a paid tool. A single $8.99 purchase unlocks the whole app — no subscription, nothing recurring, nothing to cancel. Buy it once, keep it. BUILT FOR THE REAL CUT Most calculators hand you a textbook number and stop. Feedrate applies the two corrections that decide whether a cutter survives: - Radial chip thinning. Below 50% radial engagement the chip comes out thinner than your programmed feed, so the tool rubs instead of cutting. Feedrate raises the feed to compensate, and shows you the factor it used. - Slot de-rate. Buried in a full-width slot, chip evacuation and deflection are the limit, not the formula. Feedrate backs the numbers off instead of pretending otherwise. YOUR MACHINES, NOT A GENERIC ONE Save every machine you run with its real spindle speed, feed and power limits. Results are clamped inside those limits, so you never get a number your mill cannot reach. Starter profiles for a VMC, a benchtop mill and a router are included. THE FULL SHOP REFERENCE - Tap drill sizes at any thread engagement percentage, imperial and metric - Clearance holes, close through loose - Bolt circle coordinates - Right-triangle solutions - Sine bar stacks WHAT YOU GET BACK Spindle RPM, feed rate, feed per tooth or per rev, material removal rate, spindle power and torque. Turning adds an estimated surface finish. Every result carries the surface speed it assumed, so you can check the tool's datasheet against it. INCH AND METRIC Switch at any time. The engine computes in metric and converts at the boundary, so nothing drifts when you change systems mid-job. WORKS WITHOUT SIGNAL No account, no cloud, no tracking. Everything runs on the device, which matters in a shop with no reception. A NOTE ON THE NUMBERS Cutting data is a conservative starting point, not gospel. Values vary by tool brand, coating, coolant and rigidity. Your specific tool's datasheet always wins. Feedrate gives you a defensible place to start and shows its reasoning.
