Gendec — General Declaration

Gendec prepares the General Declaration required by Annex 9 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, Appendix 1 — the document handed to border and customs authorities on arrival and departure. It is built for business aviation operations staff who prepare these flight after flight and cannot afford a manifest that is wrong. A FLIGHT FILE THAT CHECKS ITSELF Declare the inward leg, the outward leg or both. Place each person, set the crew functions, mark inbound and outbound. Gendec checks every mandatory field, exactly one pilot-in-command, nobody listed twice or without a movement, no movement on a leg that does not exist, and travel documents valid on the flight date with a warning ninety days ahead. The declaration cannot be issued until every blocking point is cleared, and each is named in plain language. REFERENCE DATA, ENTERED ONCE Aircraft, operators, sites, crew and passengers stay on file and are reused flight after flight. A crew that always flies together is saved as a team and placed in one tap. Aircraft, sites and people import and export as CSV, so a fleet shares one set of records. TRY IT BEFORE YOU TYPE A PASSPORT NUMBER Four example files travel inside the app: two aircraft, five places and nine invented people, loaded in one tap. Nothing real is needed to press every button, and one action erases the lot. EVERY AERODROME AND HELIPORT IN THE WORLD Type four letters and the site fills itself in: 21,853 ICAO location indicators, 2,911 of them heliports, all offline. Each carries its position and its own time zone, measured at that position rather than guessed from the country. A newer directory is brought in as a file whenever you want one. A site can equally be a landing site with no code at all: a hotel, an estate, a field. LOCAL TIME IN, UTC OUT Give each site its time zone once. Enter the local time the crew reads off the clock; Gendec works out UTC, correctly across daylight saving, and flags the cases where UTC falls on another day. HANDLING REQUESTS, WRITTEN FOR YOU The e-mail you send to a handler, an FBO or a hotel: movements, aircraft type and MTOW, persons on board, services wanted, the company to invoice and the crew named in full. Each site keeps its own contacts. The message opens in your own mail app — you read it over and press send. Gendec never sends anything itself, and never stores card details. SCAN THE PASSPORT Photograph the page and Gendec reads the machine-readable zone, with the check digits ICAO prints there. Every value is shown for you to confirm. The photograph is read on the device and kept nowhere. THE DOG TRAVELS TOO Animals in the cabin are declared with species, name, pet passport, microchip and rabies validity. They print in a list of their own, headed not counted as passengers. THE SUMS BEFORE A FLIGHT, ALL OFFLINE Great-circle distance and track between any two places. The wind triangle for the heading, the ground speed and the time en route. The fuel block line by line, in five units. Local time and the sun at the other end. A position read back three ways. A ONE-PAGE BRIEF FOR THE CREW Legs and times, the sun at destination, who is on board, who to call at each station and the handling asked for, on one sheet. The declaration itself goes to the handler's own contacts with the PDF attached, and an iPad keyboard drives the app: ⌘N for a new flight, ⌘P for the PDF, ⌘F to search. WHAT WAS DECLARED, STILL ON FILE Creating the PDF keeps that declaration exactly as it was printed, so starting the next flight does not end the record of the last one. The copies never leave the device and are erased whenever you choose. PRIVACY BY CONSTRUCTION Gendec holds passport numbers, dates and places of birth, on the device and nowhere else: no account, no server, no analytics, no tracking. It can require Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode each time it opens. Everything can be erased in one action. Works on iPhone and iPad. No subscription.
