WHAT BUTTON DOES: SEE YOUR BABY DRESSED – Make the baby on screen look like yours: face, eyes, hair and skin tone. See your baby wearing the outfit throughout the app and in widgets. STROLLER, CARRIER, CAR, INDOORS AND SLEEP – In a carrier, your body adds warmth. In a stroller, your baby catches the wind. A car warms up quickly. Indoors depends on the room. Switch situations and Button updates the outfit. THERE IS MORE THAN ONE RIGHT OUTFIT – There is rarely only one good answer. When several outfits work, Button shows alternatives so you can pick what is clean in the drawer. PLAN THE WHOLE DAY – Button shows what to wear now, what comes off later, and what to pack. Save regular outings like daycare, or share the visual plan with a caregiver. NIGHTS GET THEIR OWN OUTFIT – A baby in a crib needs something different than a baby sleeping in bed next to you. Set room temperature and sleep setup to see tonight's outfit and the right TOG to prevent overheating. NEWBORN TO TODDLER (0–36 MONTHS) – A newborn cannot regulate temperature yet and needs extra warmth. A toddler gets warm running around. After our daughter Michelle was born, my wife and I kept asking: “What should Michelle wear today?” We searched online, looked at charts, asked friends, and still ended up in front of a fully dressed baby wondering: "Did we get it right?" As a designer and developer for over 20 years, I've built quite a few digital products. But Button was unusually personal. I wanted to build the simplest possible app for a surprisingly complicated problem. Behind the scenes, it could be massively overengineered. (It is!) It considers what actually matters: feels-like temperature, wind, sun, rain, changes through the day, UV, age, whether they crawl or walk, where they sleep, and accessories. Plus everything we learned the hard way in our own mornings. We used Button with Michelle for months and realized we were using it every day. If Button could take one small decision off our plate every day, maybe it could do the same for other parents too. So we made Button available to everyone. Pretty nerdy behind the scenes.
