LIVE RATES Gold, silver, platinum and palladium, priced per troy ounce and per gram, followed by 152 currencies — from the US dollar and the dirham to the riyal, the ringgit and the taka. Rates refresh about once a minute while the app is open, and a number that has moved rolls over like an odometer and takes a green or red tint, so you can see the market change rather than guess at it. CONVERT Any pair of the 152, cross-rated through the rupee. One side holds the amount you typed; the other keeps moving with the market. Come back to it later and your amount is still there. ESTIMATE A PIECE OF GOLD The screen an Indian buyer actually needs. Enter a weight — grams, 10 g, pavan or tola — pick a purity (24K, 22K, 18K, 14K, or type any hallmark fineness like 916 or 750), add the making charge, and it prices the metal at the live rate and adds making and GST. Run it the other way and it answers the harder question. Give it the total a jeweller quoted, and it backs out the GST and tells you what making charge is hiding inside that number. RE-BASE THE BOARD Tap any currency and the whole board is re-quoted in it. Tap any metal and it is priced in every currency at once. MADE YOURS Reorder the board by dragging, and hide anything you never look at. Your order and your rupee amounts stay on your phone — there is no account, no sign-up and no password.
