About
Live like a Stoic! Stoic Scroll is for the scrolling you already do but for something worth reading. THE SCROLL — Every passage from nine Stoics in order from Zeno to Marcus. Swipe up to scroll and continue reading. Favorite the ones that resonate so you can read them later, share the ones that should be read by someone else. STUDY DEEPER — Tap the book on any passage: where it comes from, what it actually says, the Stoic ideas at work in it, and one concrete way to practise it today. Behind the scroll is a practice to help you live like the Stoics did: MORNING — Before the day starts, you are asked what it might demand of you. The Stoics called this premeditatio: rehearsing the difficulty so it arrives expected. Marcus opens Book 2 of the Meditations doing exactly this, and you can add it to your daily routine too. EVENING — You look back and say plainly how it all went today. Seneca audited his own conduct every night before sleep: what did I do well, where did I fall short, what will I do differently. SENECA REPLIES — Write a reflection and Seneca answers it, in the form he actually used: the brief, practical letter. Not a quotation flung back at you, but a reply to what you wrote. WHAT IS UP TO YOU — Name what is weighing on you, then sort each one: yours to govern, or not? Most of what we carry lands in the second column. Seeing the proportion is the relief, and it is the exercise Epictetus put first. This helps with identifying what you should focus your energy on for the day and letting free what you cannot change. Seneca will answer the board too, if you ask him. THE LIBRARY — Nearly 3,000 passages, collected by philosopher: Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, Epictetus, Musonius Rufus, Zeno, Cleanthes, Chrysippus, Cato and Hierocles. Read one thinker on his own, in full. Marcus, Epictetus, Zeno and Cleanthes are open to everyone; the rest open with Pro. • Classic public-domain translations, thoughtfully modernised • Your journal stays on your phone • Morning and evening reminders you choose • No account required — start in seconds Stoic Scroll Pro is an auto-renewing subscription (weekly, monthly or yearly).
