RideWitness turns your iPhone into a cyclist’s black box, combining cycling navigation, ride telemetry and a short rolling video memory. START A PROTECTED RIDE Mount your iPhone securely and start a protected ride. RideWitness continuously maintains a temporary video buffer instead of permanently storing hours of uneventful footage. When something happens, tap Save Incident, use Apple Watch, run the App Shortcut or let automatic movement detection preserve the available moments before and after the trigger. NAVIGATE WHILE YOU RIDE Plan cycling routes with Apple Maps, search for destinations and choose between available route options. Follow clear turn instructions, spoken guidance and off-route recalculation while keeping the Save Incident control within reach. Save favourite destinations and quickly return to recent routes. RIDE DATA CONTINUES IN THE BACKGROUND iOS does not permit third-party apps to record camera video while the app is backgrounded or the phone is locked. RideWitness clearly pauses video in those situations while continuing to record available GPS, speed, direction, location accuracy and motion data during an active ride. Optional reminders prompt you to reopen RideWitness and restore the rolling video buffer. BUILD AN ORGANISED INCIDENT RECORD Each saved incident can include: • Original video and synchronised ride telemetry • Route, speed, direction and movement context • Trigger times and disclosed recording interruptions • Written or recorded statements • Vehicle, witness and official reference details • Photographs, captions, damage and injury notes • Full and privacy-redacted PDF reports • A portable evidence package for export PROTECT THE ORIGINALS RideWitness separates captured source files from reports and working copies. Saved evidence can be hashed, signed and checked for changes. Editing or creating a share copy never replaces the original recording. Integrity checks show whether the package has changed since it was sealed. They do not determine fault, certify that every sensor reading is exact or guarantee that material will be accepted as evidence. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT • No account required • Unsaved rolling footage is continuously overwritten • Audio is off by default • Ride and incident data stays on your device unless you export it • No public feed, advertising profile or facial recognition • Existing incidents remain accessible even if Pro ends IMPORTANT RideWitness is not an emergency service, legal adviser or substitute for professional equipment. Automatic incident detection is assistive and cannot detect every collision. Video protection requires RideWitness to be visible in the foreground with the iPhone unlocked and securely mounted.
