Jaktli - OpenTrack

OpenTrack turns a spare phone into a live GPS dog tracker for your hunt. Most dog-collar makers lock you into their own app and hardware. OpenTrack is different: install it on any iOS phone you already have, strap it to your dog's vest, and its position streams straight onto the live map in the main Jaktli app so the whole team can see the dog. HOW IT WORKS • In the Jaktli app, open My Dogs → Add tracker → Jaktli OpenTrack app, and generate a pairing code (also shown as a QR). • On the dog's phone, open OpenTrack, scan the QR or type the code, no account, no sign-in needed on that phone. • Name the phone if you like, for example "Ronja's old phone", in your own app or in OpenTrack. • Tap Start tracking, put the phone in a pouch on the vest, and go. The dog appears on your hunt map automatically. BUILT FOR THE FIELD • Runs in the background with the screen off and the phone in a pocket/pouch. • Adaptive GPS power modes so an old phone lasts a full hunt day; live battery % and estimated time-to-empty. • Change the dog phone's GPS mode from your own phone during the hunt, without touching the dog. • The dog's phone shows your name and phone number, so whoever finds a loose dog can call you right away. • The dog shows up in whatever hunt you're currently in, and follows you if you switch hunts, nothing to touch on the dog's phone. • Stays paired between hunts: just Start and Stop. Unpair any time from the phone, or revoke it from your Jaktli account. REQUIRES A JAKTLI ACCOUNT OpenTrack is a companion to the Jaktli hunting-team app. You pair a dog's phone from your own Jaktli account; the dog's position is shared only with the hunt teams you're part of. LOCATION OpenTrack collects precise location in the foreground and background, including when the screen is locked, because the phone is strapped to a moving dog. It is only collected while tracking is on and stops the moment you stop tracking.
