Almanac: A Word Retrieval Game

Almanac is a word-retrieval game! Almanac includes optional Game Center leaderboards, achievements, and Gauntlet challenges. It is off by default! You read a definition, synonym, or sentence clue and type the word you think fits. The game remembers which words you know, which ones are fading, and which ones need another meeting, then chooses what to show you next. You can play a quick five-word round, a longer session, recover missed words, or climb the Gauntlet until your first mistake. Over time, you build a personal Lexicon and see your vocabulary become stronger and easier to use. The difficulty adjusts toward the edge of comfortable: enough effort to matter, without lives, punishment, or a clock over your shoulder. If a word does not come, Almanac reveals it and lets you continue.
