About
From the ingredients you have to dinner on the table. FoodLens brings recipes, your pantry, meal plans and shopping lists together, with guided cooking to help you through each step. CREATE AND ADAPT RECIPES Start with a food photo, a list of ingredients or a description of what you want to cook. Choose servings, a time limit, cuisine, skill level and dietary preferences. Ask for ingredient swaps or other changes in a follow-up conversation, then review and edit the draft before saving. BRING YOUR COOKBOOK WITH YOU Photograph a printed recipe or paste its text. Review the recognised text, organise it into ingredients and instructions, and add a source note. You can also enter recipes manually. Save favourites and share recipes from your own collection. KEEP TRACK OF YOUR PANTRY Find ingredients in a photo or tap to select an individual ingredient. Review the results, edit names and quantities, and add optional use-by dates. Keep a local record of what you have for your next meal. PLAN DINNERS AND SHOPPING Schedule saved recipes with the servings you need, or ask for dinner suggestions using your pantry and preferences. Review suggested meals before saving. Build a shopping list that scales ingredients for planned servings, combines matching quantities and deducts compatible pantry amounts. Edit or share the list, tick off purchases and move bought items into your pantry. COOK ONE STEP AT A TIME Follow instructions in guided cooking, tick off ingredients and return to your saved step. Run multiple named cooking timers. Live Activities show cooking progress and timers on the Lock Screen and, on supported iPhones, in the Dynamic Island. Timer alerts require alarm permission. FIND THE RIGHT RECIPE Ask your cookbook in everyday language to search recipes you have already saved. Search stays on your device, with a keyword fallback when the local model is unavailable. Use Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight to create, find, open or favourite recipes and start cooking. CHOOSE HOW AI WORKS FoodLens uses Apple's Foundation Models. By default, it prefers Apple Private Cloud Compute when available, with on-device processing as a fallback. Choose On-device only in Settings to keep requests and photo processing local. Recipe creation, adjustments, import structuring and meal suggestions depend on model availability; manual recipe entry, pantry records, planning and shopping remain available without AI. YOUR KITCHEN, ON YOUR DEVICE No account is required. Saved recipes, pantry records and selected ingredient images, meal plans, shopping lists and cooking progress are stored locally. FoodLens has no ads or third-party analytics. When Private Cloud Compute is used, relevant photos, recipe text, pantry details and requests may be processed by Apple's private cloud service. Designed for iPhone and iPad, with English and Simplified Chinese in the app. Requires iOS 27 or iPadOS 27. AI features require compatible hardware, enabled Apple Intelligence and available models. Cloud processing also requires connectivity and service availability. Generated recipes and photo recognition may contain mistakes. Review imported text and suggested changes. Check ingredient labels, allergens, cooking temperatures and food safety before cooking. FoodLens does not provide medical or dietary advice.Read more
