About

TIME is a musical clock for iPhone and iPad. Tap the pulse or let TIME listen to the music: it locks tempo, beat and bar position, then drives a steady clock to your gear over Ableton Link and MIDI. You play. Your gear follows. SOURCES • Tap: a Kalman tap-tempo tracker that settles in a few taps and rejects half- and double-time slips. • Listen: a neural beat tracker reads live audio from the microphone or an audio interface: vinyl, a mixer, a band in the room. Tracking profiles for DJ sets, live bands and radio; a Generalist and an Electronic model. • Controls for the live clock: Freeze holds the tempo, Tap 1 marks the downbeat, Re-lock reacquires after a change, ÷2 / ×2 corrects an octave. OUTPUTS • Ableton Link: tempo, beat and phase shared with every Link app on the network. Start/Stop Sync when you want it. • MIDI Clock: over USB-C, Bluetooth LE, network or a virtual port, with Start/Stop/Continue and Song Position. MIDI 1.0 and MIDI 2.0 (UMP with JR timestamps), plus MTC for tape-style sync. • Audio click: a sample-accurate click in your ears, accented per beat, with a count-in. • Apple Watch: a silent, meter-aware haptic pulse on the wrist, with START from the watch. • AUv3: two plug-ins from one extension: TIME as a MIDI processor (tap or follow the host), and TIME Listen as an audio effect that tracks the tempo of whatever bus it sits on and passes the audio through untouched. Tested in AUM; TIME Listen loads as an audio effect in any AUv3 host, TIME wherever MIDI-processor plug-ins are supported. METERS • Odd and additive meters are first-class: 5/4, 7/8 as 3+2+2, 9/8, 11/8, custom groupings. The downbeat has a place next to the tempo. TIMING • Causal, low-latency tracking tuned for Apple silicon. The clock never glitches: corrections are applied gradually, and it free-wheels through breakdowns and silence. • Separate latency calibration for the audio and MIDI paths; automatic measurement or manual offsets; plus per-output offsets for the Watch. • Scene presets save your input, click, count-in and Watch setup. BUILT ACCESSIBLE • VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, Reduced Motion, tested contrast. The Watch pulse and the audio click deliver beat and phase without looking. PRIVACY • Analysis runs on your device. No accounts, no analytics, no server. Link and network MIDI use the local network only when you enable them, and carry timing; never your music. REQUIREMENTS • iPhone 15 Pro or newer, or an M-series iPad Air / iPad Pro; iOS / iPadOS 18 or later. The optional Watch companion needs watchOS 26. Also runs on Apple-silicon Macs.Read more
