MileAnchor records your drives automatically and turns them into a mileage log you can actually file with. Get in and go. There is no button to press and nothing to remember. When you park, the drive is already in your log with its route, its distance, and what it is worth. WHY THE NUMBERS HOLD UP Every mile is valued at the official IRS standard rate in effect on the day it was driven, mid-year rate changes included. A year that spans a rate change prints both lines, so the arithmetic is visible rather than assumed. Deductions and reimbursements never mix. Business miles go to your Schedule C total at the IRS rate. Miles your employer reimburses are valued at your employer's rate, which you maintain with its own effective dates. A mile is never counted twice. Odometer check-ins reconcile the log against your dashboard and report what share of your real-world miles the log captured. That cross-check is what an auditor asks for, and most mileage apps skip it. Rental and borrowed cars are tracked but excluded from per-mile deductions, because the IRS standard rate applies only to vehicles you own or lease. Your trips are stored on your iPhone and back up to your own iCloud. We operate nothing that could hold your data, which means we could not hand it over, sell it, or lose it. No analytics. No advertising identifier. No tracking of any kind. HONEST ABOUT THE LIMITS No automatic tracker is perfect. GPS drifts downtown, and a slow stop-start drive can read slightly long because every position reading carries a little uncertainty. Detection can start late if iOS has suspended the app. Where MileAnchor has to estimate it estimates low, it labels the estimate, and every figure stays editable, because your log should contain your numbers rather than our guesses.
